The inaugural More Than Ever Education Luncheon will honor the legacy created by Gregory Maire and Michael Horvich through the establishment of the More Than Ever Education Fund. For the first time, La Casa Norte will raise funds exclusively for scholarships and education initiatives for homeless youth participants. The program will feature an awards presentation to honorary chair, Michael Horvich, as well as scholarship presentations by La Casa Norte youth benefitting from educational services.
When Gregory was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer's Disease twelve years ago, he and Michael recommitted their love for each other and acknowledged that in the difficult time that lie ahead, they loved each other "more than ever."
Â
In the 41st year of their relationship, shortly before Gregory died on October 4, 2015, Michael and he had a conversation about realizing their dream of helping others by making a meaningful and lasting impact by partnering with their long time youth and familiy support organization friend, La Casa Norte.
With the help of this premier Chicago area not-for-profit organization, The More Than Ever Education Fund was created to raise funds exclusively for scholarships and to provide education initiatives for homeless youth participants of La Casa Norte.
